Abstract
In this paper, light intensity variation of LED lamp is studied with flicker and statistical characteristics. Light intensity variation of 40 LED bulb lamps are experimentally investigated, such as the brand of PHILIPS, Osram, Panasonic, OPPLE, NVC, etc. Two parameters, the flicker index (FI) and coefficient of variation (C∙V), represent flicker and statistical characteristic of LED lamp, respectively. The research results demonstrate the relation between parameter FI and C∙V for reflecting the light intensity variation of LED lamps is approximate linearity and positive correlation. Moreover, in order to express and distinguish the light intensity variation of LED lamps, two new concepts are defined, that are “weak variation” and “strong variation”.
